We typically work to save a damaged or broken tooth, but sometimes, your dentist recommends extraction if decay or trauma is significant. Sometimes, the patient chooses this option as well.

The procedure is very straightforward, and we always provide anesthesia to the extraction site before starting work. Afterward, we provide instructions for home care. You may notice a few days of mild swelling and lingering soreness, but this clears up quickly. You can take a store-bought pain reliever if needed.

If we try to salvage your tooth, we clear away infection and usually cap the tooth with a dental crown to prevent further damage.
